This little guy (6lbs with some room for a couple more) was found as a stray in Leander and wound up at the Williamson County shelter. He came as Novel and is very novel, but Pico seems to fit him better (and he already recognizes his name). He’s a busy little fella, about a year old, neutered this week, up to date on everything, and heartworm negative.
We thought he could be a sheltie chihuahua mix but today we realized he has no tail…..mini-aussie mix, we’re betting. A DNA test will be done (went in the mail this week). He is a cutie with tons of energy but also loves sitting on your lap and taking a nap or watching TV.
He seems unbothered by cats and gets along with other dogs. He’s learning to use a leash, sleeps well in his crate, and knows how to go up and down the stairs (but will feign being scared to get you to carry him). He hasn’t met any kids yet, but we’ll post an update as soon as he does.
He’s a smart little boy who will make a great addition to your family. If you’re interested fill in our adoption application and we’ll get back to you.
[Update] The DNA results are in and Pico is 100% Mini Aussie!! He has been making great strides in his house training and is showing an interest in toys and playing with his foster siblings. He’s most happy on your lap but has a great little playful personality.
